Hi "680doug",

I would agree that local law enforcement is typically the best source; however, some of the sites below geo-locate events, which can be useful in your decision making process.

As you review areas consider the possibility that some stats might be skewed by the current economic environment. So, looking at past statistics might provide another "data point" to consider in your decision. As of 9/10/10 Contra Costa County has an 11.3% unemployment rate, which is “better than” the 12.2 CA State average. As a comparison, in 9/08 these figures stood at 6.6% and 7.6%, respectively.

Here is the link to the Antioch Police Department Crime Map and Statistics.

You can find useful information specific to Antioch. Also, here is the Antioch P.D. phone number 925.779.6902

I have worked with an investment buyer in Antioch who purchased a great piece of property for rent. I can provide you with further resources as well as information about the city and surrounding areas. I also provide a buyer rebate of 25% of my commission. Contact me for details.

Good luck with your investment property search!

I agree with the other two on checking with the Police Department. I am currently working with investors in Antioch. Go to the web site below for a free book on investing and to look at homes.

You should check with the police dept. about safe neighborhoods. For the most part, the rental market is very strong in Antioch.

The best answer to that question would be to contact the local community services division of the Police or Sheriff Dept. They can better answer your question.
