How can I become an assistant to a real estate agent?

Asked by Chamberlain, Atlanta, GA Mon Jun 4, 2012

I want to become a real estate agent and I am in my last year of college. I want to begin working in real estate before I graduate but I don't know where to look for a job.

Please send ,me your resume' today - my email address is ltaylor@kw.com.

My office is in downtown Decatur and I'm hiring - if you can work remotely a s a"virtual assistant" then you'll open up even more opportunities for yourself.

Good luck!

First, if you do not have a license, it would be a great asset.
Write a good resume that highlights how you would benefit an agent.
Make copies on nice paper stock.
Choose several real estate offices near where you live.
Dress in a coat & tie and walk into the offices.
Ask if you may leave your resume on their bulletin board.
You will get interviews.
Do your homework ahead of time by studying the agent's web site.
Ask questions-- lots. You need to feel comfortable with your future boss.

Good luck to you!

You would be working for an agent and employed by that agent, not the office they work in unless you get a job in the office. Speak to some agents or place an ad in the local Board Of Realtors office. Unless you have a real estate license you will be limited in what you can do for the agent you work for but you can do a lot of things, just can't show homes or speak to buyers about homes.
