The DC Crime Mapper has been down for months. Hopefully it will be back up soon as that is a very important tool to look at when buying a house.

you can go to the MPD website and find out crime data in the community. Also each community has a PSA meeting, ANC meeting where the police provide crime stats for the area and answer citizens questions about crime issues.

its is a great forum to get touch with your community.

Go to http://crimemap.dc.gov/presentation/query.asp and enter an address it will give you up to 1500 feet from that radius all the crime stats. This is the best resource for what you are searching for--agents can speak on these items.

All the Best!

As a Realtor, I can not discuss crime rates with you. However I suggest you contact the police department.

Agents can't really comment on the safety of a particular neighborhood. However, you can probably find this information very easily online.
