Best schools in bay area with newer homes?

Asked by DT, Saratoga, CA Sun Sep 2, 2012

We currently live in Irvine, CA with 2 kids age 4 and age 2. We are considering a permanent move to the SF Bay Area. Most important for us is to be in a great or best school district for K-12. We are in the tech industry so access to Silicon Valley would be good. We prefer to live in a newer house, say 10 years old or newer. We are ok with warm weather but not super hot. What cities/areas in the Bay Area would you recommend?

Since schools will be important for you I suggest you take a peek at http://www.SchoolAndHousing.com
Based on property address, this site provides attendance area schools (Public, Private and Daycares) along with useful statistics and other information.

The link above is the Free version; however, there is also a Pro version that has better search capabilities. I can add you as a guest user if you like, just contact me via my website.

The Pro version of "SnH" will certainly help you with what schools to target; however, to find homes meeting your requirements you will need to also have an automated regional geo-bounded (based on school attendance boundaries) Realtor®-based MLS search agent, which I can also set up for you. If you want to see all available properties this is a must! Please see the following blog post regarding this topic:

Terri has given you very good areas with very good schools and as she pointed out it depends on your budget. I will just add that if you don't have an agent familiar with your areas of interest then get a local agent here to assist you and to answer your questions.
I would be happy to assist you and so would the other agents who answered your question, just go over our profiles and contact the one(s) you feel would represent you best.
At your service,

Some of my clients who want a newer home in school districts with high API scores look in, Fremont, Evergreen, Palo Alto, Cupertino, Los Gatos, Saratoga, Sunnyvale, Milpitas, Cambrian (San Jose 95124) Campbell. To name a few. Each area has sub areas where school scores vary.

Your budget will be a factor.
