Nander,

Middleburgh is a rural community with no major industry to support it. As a bedroom community to the "capital district" with a strong farming presence. Middleburgh has and is currently considered a depressed area. The local housing market is a reflection of this issue.

This area was a victim of flooding from Irene, It is a wonderful bedroom community with many small business hometown. The local housing market prices are reflective of homes that were hit by a 100 yr flood event.

http://www.housingpredictor.com/newyork.html Look at that. It does not mention that town, but the state looks like financial trouble overall. Expect more price drops to come.
