The best thing about living in Keyport in the true sense of community. We became even more united after hurricane Sandy. All neighbors pulled together to help each other out, especially in our sister town which had the most devastation in Union Beach. The town is clean, with no crime and maintains it's historic reputation with home tours, garden clubs and tons of activities throughout the year. The town is so diverse in culture so there are many great restaurants and shops. People come from all over to stroll the waterfront and antique on the weekends. Fishing tours are popular in the summer off of the bulkhead and candlelight home tours during Christmas time shouldn't be missed!

Keyport has it all! Waterfront promenade, walkable to town, walkable to NYC bus, minutes to the train or ferry, great diversity, amazing Victorian houses restored and redone, fantastic town events like historic Keyport house walks during the holidays, Halloween haunted house, free concerts every week in the summer, a festival in town almost every other weekend, Zagat rated restaurants (Drew's Bistro is amazing), and more. I love living here. It's truly a diamond in the rough and it's the best kept secret of the Bayshore. If you love boats, this is the place to be when the Yacht Club hosts its Sailboat regatta.
All of this with no shore traffic because you are 15 minutes from the "real" beach.
Hope that helps!

Alot is great about keyport. It is diverse. It has a great downtown area with quaint shops. The homes are eclectice not cookie cutter. YOu have the bay right there with phenom views of New York. You have great transportation to NY via rail and bus and of course you can commute by car. The town is very pro active and they have great festivals. Case in point last year I went to their chili cook off. It was great you got to meet the people from local area restaurants, taste different types of chili and have a great day outdoors.
