I live just a couple of blocks from Briarwood and have always loved the ORchard Hills neighborhood. They have one of the strongest neighborhood associations in town. Depends which end of Briarwood you are on: if on area east of Saturn Road, eh.....it can be a bit dicey on weekends. By dicey I mean, loud parties and the occasional gunfire. Across Saturn Road, between Saturn and Glenbrook Drive, pretty quiet, except for occasional speeders. There is that dog leg turn about halfway down towards Glenbrook, sometimes folks take it a little too quickly. Between Glenbrook and Fifth Street, you have to deal with Rick Oden park and weekend parties/radios, plus that side of the neighborhood is not so great. Loud parties on weekends. The section between Saturn Road and Glenbrook is the nicest, lots of long time residents in there who take care of their yards and watch out for each other. Several seniors living along there too. Nice folks. Great area to walk too. Plus it is a few hundred yards from Glenbrook which has a designated biking lane that goes all the way to Centerville Road and all the way north to Belt Line Road, passing by Central Park, which is a great place to walk/run. low prices may be a relative term, but yes similar properties may be a bit lower in price in Garland vs Richardson and that is due being in different cities and therefore different tax rate---- and also as you area aware there are some area's in Garland that are in the Richardson school district and due to this many folks prefer these areas----- ... more

Sachse is in effect part of Garland, same school district, it is located in north Garland, close to toll road that can take you to major hwy's in the area, also Sachse can tend to have newer homes since this was developed more recently then other parts of Garland---- now there are also other areas in Garland proper that are very similar to Sachse and as in most communities there are nice subdivisions in Garland----- ... more

Are you talking about leasing a townhome or purchasing a townhome?

1. Townhomes are multi family dwelling each have their own property design some have no yards while others have yards.
2. Most townhomes yards are nothing more than a "weed wacker" and the HOA would take care of the front.
3. Few townhome communities take care of the fenced and enclosed areas.
