My house payment is half as much as my taxes and insurance combined. Any remodeling has to be approved for insurance purposes.

This property is not located by spring breakers. It's not far from The Strand which is the downtown portion of Galveston. Beautiful historical buildings. Restaurants and shopping with a view of the Yacht basin. The condo does does not have a beach view and its not located close to a major hotel.
The monthly fee is currently $350.00/mth. which includes insurance and security. The beach and crowds are blocks away. It allows you the convenience of walk in and walk out with the hassle of yard maintenance and high insurance premiums.

Please email if you have any additional questions.

Aneissa,
Being Certified in Short Sale and Foreclosure is very important with today's problem. I suggest that first you get with your friend and make sure they start the dialogue with the mortgage company. Also, look at the bottom line for the property and see if it is in their best interest to try and sell now and how the other comps compare. I have the SFR designation and so does my partner, Jill Costa. We can help with your friends situation and try and provide the best solution to address this. We wish you and everyone the best of luck this coming year.

Ann,
I totally understand what you went thru, I rode the storm out myself at home in Galveston and lost just about everything. I know of some great properties on Galveston and near the water. I have a new construction in Jamaica beach that is gorgeous. Let me know if I can help.

The market has been more realistic for the past few years by comparison to the years you are referring too when everything was high. Waterfront condos are still a favorite for full or second home buyers and they are modrately priced compared to other coastal properties. Some are still in stages of renovation since Ike if they were first floor units but there are many deals. You will love Galveston for retirement; I did for a few years and then I became a Realtor to show this great city off. Give me a call and i will find you the perfect condo! Average days on the market is 120. The market has softened but not to the degree of other coastal markets. We are still priced competitively as compared to Florida and California. We currently have a lot of great buys and the investors are gradually returning. ... more
