You can contact apartments or owners that are renting out homes on their own and explain the circumstances. Some may request a larger deposit or 2 months rent up front but he won't know until he contacts them. Every place is going to be different so no one can really answer this except the person or agency that is listing the place for rent. It also is a factor how long ago did this occur, was it listed on his credit report in collections recently? If it is listed on his credit report he might be able to work something out where if he pays the remaining past due amount they agree to remove it from his credit report but you would need this in writing prior. Try to find someone renting a place that he can talk to, most will have your credit checked and depending on the time frame of the delinquent account and the rest of his credit history he might be able to get something. ... more

Hi Tony. I understand that it is hard for you to rent due to the credit issues. in this case some landlords might ask you 3 months in advance rent plus deposit. Please call me to see what we can do for you. But definitely, you need one Realtor in town to help you. I like to help and I don't want to get compensated for it. God will bless me for helping you. I am a landlord myself and I don't check for credit score at all. I give chances to my tenants that have bad credit, and I don't judge people for their credit. The lord be with you.
