That is a really scary position to be in. I would recommend calling a real estate attorney and then call the landlord and see if you can work anything out. They shouldn't just turn off the services without warning.

Likotara,

I'm sorry you are losing your house but be a smart woman -- save yourself lots of hassle and move out on 1/6/2014, the day before the auction. If you try to stay beyond that date, you definitely will need to hire an attorney and it will cost you lots of $$$. Or you risk to be evicted by the new owner which is quite humiliating. ... more

Hello Chris,

Hereby my website where you can do market research buysellhomesinbroward.com
Prices are going up like quickly at the moment. If you can rent out your property and have a positive cash flow then this can be a good way to go. The question is if you sell how are you going to invest the cash. If you think you can get an higher return on on cash if you sell the home, then sell it.

I hope this helps.

Regards,
Jacques

The auction is held and a report of sale is filed with the court. You normally have 30 days to object to the sale, otherwise the court will approved the sale. If you still living in the house, the new owner (usually the bank) will ask the court for a writ of possession, you them have another 30 days to respond to the writ and explain why you should not have to move out. The court will then issue an order giving the new owner possession of the property. Only then, the new owners need to take this order to the sheriff and ask him to sets a day for the eviction.

After the property that you lease is sold, you may want to talk to the new landlord first to see if he/she is willing to sign a new lease for another year. Your concerns may be alleviated if your previous landlord makes clear that the new landlord will respect your lease or that the sales process will not intrude in your enjoyment of the unit.

Best of Luck,
