If NOT a MERs loan, you must call the bank SErVICER and ask. Make sure and serve upon servicers AND bank (i.e. the note holder).

I would ask you for more information on your intent and situation. If you are doing a short sale or loan modification for example I feel filling out a third party authorization form would suffice. Talk to an attorney. I recommend Erik Miles at 312 854 8092 for such matters

That is one you will have to call the bank and ask. It may be different department depending on the type of business you need to conduct with them.
