Here are some suggestions, all of which I have done but none guaranteed to get you the results or info you are looking for: (1)see if you can find out through the county records who the lender is and write to them. Tell them you are interested in purchasing the property and see what it would take. Would recommend if you do get a response, have a realtor you trust or attorney get involved to make sure you are getting a 'clean deal'. (2) Check your county sheriff sale site to see if it is on the schedule for auction for back taxes or, if it already sold at a tax sale (3) Contact the county auditors office and see what they can tell you including is it in the 'pipeline' to go to sheriff sale auction (4) Ask a realtor you trust to recommend a title co., you can pay them to research
All the information you are looking for is lurking in the county and court records- it can be hard to
to get to the bottom of it! I wish there were an easier way- Good luck to you!
