Connecticut has become more defendant friendly over the past 2 years, most cases are reverted directly to mediation and the mediators are very knowledgeable especially on loan modification.

Even if mediation were not to work the process is very drawn out, the court offers extensions giving you time to attempt modification, short sale or deed-in-lieu-of and it could take years for the bank to take the home, then housing court may allow you to stay in the home as much as 6 month beyond the eviction date.

The state web site is very informative, and the clerks at the court are very helpful, just make sure you do not miss answer or court dates

The Connecticut Judicial website is a great place to look. Yes, it does give you lots of great information and can be overwhelming, but if you know what specifically what you are looking for, this may help.
