You need to read the covenants and restrictions, and address this question to an attorney.

Joyce,

Contact your HOA president. I have a client that inquired about this issue with her HOA and they do not permit rentals, but make exceptions under extreme circumstances.

In response to Curtis. I would think if she had the home rented and kept up with the payments it would not be foreclosed on.

It depends on the restrictions and covenants on renting. But my question is who are you going to rent to if the home is in foreclosure? As soon as it is foreclosed on they will be evicted by the local constable.
