Why am I asked for a credit card no. to look for forclosures? Why is this not free information?

Asked by Nikol Hutnik, Indianapolis, IN Sat Feb 16, 2013

I am looking for a home that is forclosed on. I would like to move quickly and dont see a necessity for loans if it can be bought flat out. I want easy, quick, done, no problems. obviously, real estate agents have a problem making things easily obtainable. Why?

It wasn't a Real Estate Agent who asked you for your Credit Card:

My best guess is that you ended up on Realty Trac. They are not real estate agents, but a service that tracks foreclosure filings. They want to get you to pay them for information that will likely not help you much in your search for a home.

I recommend hiring an agent in the area you're interested in.

Good luck!

You were probably on a site known to this and it NOT THE Real Estate Agents. Contact a local Realtor until you find one you like and work with them. They will help you find foreclosures - NO NEED TO PAY TO LOOK
