Been here since 1999. Had a nice home in Stockdale Estates, but sold at a good time. I loved Stockdale elementary and the teachers. Older homes 80's, but quiet, mature landscapes, majority empty nesters. My In -laws moved into the Oaks across from the Marketplace. Again, older neighbor hood, modest, but well maintained homes, and again good elementary, Middle, and Sr schools. This neighborhood (Oaks) gets my vote for the best all round features. Plenty of other playmates for your son, good walk-to elementary, nice park, and all of the creature comforts across the street at the Marketplace. (Restaurants, movies, groceries, Rx) There are some great deals to be had a little further west & south, just now coming on the market. However, I am in this area now (renting, waiting) and wonder how it is going to shake out. Many families have foreclosed, short sold, or bankrupt on my street. The home we are renting the owner paid 500K+, but now, same floor plan on our street, has come back on the market after foreclosure at 320K. I also like Brimhall area, second choice. Just a Midwesterners opinion.
