Can someone tell me who you make the cashier's check out to when buying at the courthouse steps? Particularly in San Joaquin County.

Hi Annar,
Typically the cashier's checks are made out to yourself in various denominations. If you have a large enough bank account your bank may waive the fees or give you a deal. Sounds like you haven't been on the courthouse steps before ( of course I could be worng) so perhaps going down there with empty pockets to study and watch would be a great way to start. Have you checked the houses you are interested in? Any city violations? You can get a great deal so if you are determined to go for it be sure to do your homework on these homes or a great deal could end up a nightmare. Email or call me with the addresses. Respectfully, Sheena
