I have heard that Countrywide/Bank of America may be the most difficult company to work with for a loan modification and/or short sale. I would recommend that you spend approximately one hour each day trying to get some cooperation. You need to be kind of like a detective trying to solve a very important case. Look for telephone numbers on the internet, ask for other departments and people to talk to about your problem, take lots of notes and get names. By all means never give up and do not loose your temper!
THE PROBLEM: Fannie Mae tells me that they don't have the property and BoA states that they don't have the property. I have written to our Senator, called BoA and Fannie Mae weekly and no one claims that they know where the property is!!!! This has been going on since September 24th 2010!!!
ANY HELP WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.....
Don't ever give up.
Also write to your Senators.
http://www.occ.treas.gov/ Start online first to get a case number. Then you should get a mailing address. My OCC office address is:
Office of the Comptroller of the Currency
Customer Assistance Group
1301 McKinney St Ste 3450
Houston TX 77010-9050
As far as the mailing address for BofA Office of the President, here is what I have:
100 N Tryon St Ste 220
Charlotte NC 28202-4031
And if you have an FHA loan, don't forget the Department of Housing and Urban Development. I haven't filed a complaint with them yet. I'm going to let this play out with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency first.
Also another good source is your local TV stations or newspapers who often have consumer advocates looking for just the kind of stories we can provide them about Bank of America.
Good luck, and DON'T GIVE UP. Maybe if enough of us keep screaming, someone will eventually take notice.
You have to call your bank directly (the 800 number will be in your mortgage statement) and ask their customer rep for loss mitigation department number and fax number to send the loan modification request.
And also ask them which number to call for follow up after sending the loan modification request ..Good luck!
