When it comes to any safety/crime related issues, it's always best to contact the local authorities with all your questions, hear all there is to hear firsthand. If unfamiliar with the area(s) do revisit more than once and at different times of day, possibly chat with locals/neighbors. Real estate professionals are prohibited from steering, enticing a buyer to purchase/rent, or not, in specific neighborhoods.

You can contact the listing agent who will be able to help you learn more about that specific property (and probably will know a lot about similar properties in the area). To find an agent, just click on the yellow button on the property's Trulia listing and you will be able to start a dialogue.

Please let me know if you have any questions or if I can help with anything else. I am happy to be a resource for you. Good luck with the search!

Ali, Trulia Voices Community Manager

Hello Evarist,

It all depends on the type of property you are looking at. If it's a coop that requires 20% then no. But if the coop only requires 10% then it is possible. Other factors do come into play. Credit, Income, Bank lending requirements etc.

Hello Mike,

Which Coop are you interested in? There are many great Coops in the Bronx but they all have different criteria. Some require 10% down others require 20 % down. Some allow pets, others don't, and there are some that don't allow subletting and others that do. If you would like some guidance on Bronx Coops check out my Blog Post.

You can also search for coops on the site as well. If you need any help feel free to let me know.

I advise you not to get in contact with the poster. The poster is going to be the listing agent. You want a buyer's agent--someone to represent you, not the seller (or landlord).

Contact a Realtor in your area and provide him/her with the property address. That's what you really should do.

Hope that helps.
