What communities do you like? Why not make a list of what is important to you: work, schools, religious or other affiliations - then work within your budget to explore the communities about Denver. Are you looking to buy a home or rent? Your price range suggests renting - which if the case, it is a very tight rental market, so your options may be limited. Now is a great time to invest in home ownership.

As Realtors, we are forbidden to direct people toward or away from neighborhoods, towns, etc. Besides, you didn't say what you're trying to avoid. If, for example you're concerned about crime rates there are web sites you can access or ask area police precincts.

If you are forbidden to direct toward or away from an area, why bother to answer the person at all ?

Makes no sense.

Celia,

Just answered your last question. Good to see you here again. It is hard to say what neighborhoods to avoid. There are some great neighborhoods in Denver now that are somewhat in transition that are almost block by block as to the desirablity. It is hard to go wrong in the areas I mentioned before such as Park Hill, Stapleton, Lowry, City Park, etc. that are in your price range. Some of the choices will be older or newer, 2-story or ranch, size of lots and back yard availability for children and pets, etc.

Here are some websites that might help as far as schools and crime stats. Let me know If I can help you further. Best of success with your search.

Here are some useful links to help you navigate:
- http://www.padmapper.com to see what rentals are available in your price range.
- http://www.crimereports.com to see what types of crimes are happening in different neighborhoods
- http://www.greatschools.org to see how local schools are ranked. This is based on test scores and some parent input. Best way to see a school is to tour it and talk with parents and teachers.

It is really hard to tell you what areas to avoid without knowing what your concerns are. Feel free to contact me if you have questions or need a resource to ask questions. The rental market is very strong and renters are having difficulties finding a place to live.

Have you had a chance to look around Denver or are you just getting started with your search?

There are a lot of bubbles in Denver of great areas surrounded by not great areas. If you can tell me a bit more about what you are looking for I will gladly help you out!
