Danbury is a very safe area for not only seniors, but for all the residents. It has been designated as the safest city of its size in New England according to the F.B.I.

Hello Freetobemec,
Real estate agents are not allowed by law to comment on if neighborhoods are safe but we can provide you guidance on where to look so that you can make your own determination.

Here are a couple of links regarding crime statistics and some other helpful information about Danbury;

I also suggest that you hear the information first-hand by calling the local police department in Danbury. Here is their web site where you can obtain their contact information:

Best wishes to you!

Hi- Danbury is a city with many diverse people. Although I feel Danbury is one of the safer cities in the state, I would feel like I was lying to say it is "safe". With such a diverse population and number of people...all cities have there dangerous locations. Danbury is no exception. However, having said that, there are very safe places that seniors, or anyone, could live without fear of crime.

Danbury is a great city. Yes, it is safe. It is very close to Westchester, lower Fairfield, 90 mins from NYC and it has a strong, diverse economy and many resources including a good sized Mall, lots of parks and recreation, Candlewood Lake. etc. See the article below from the Danbury News Times, our local newspaper specifically about your question. Best of luck to you.
