Relocating to the Charlotte, NC area and trying to find a home to rent AND a job.

Asked by kazzyrocks78, Charlotte, NC Wed Jan 16, 2013

I have been on Craigslist and Indeed and no one is answering my emails regarding homes for rent or jobs. I am getting frustrated because I have to relocate in February. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Depending on your job skills try Please do not look for rental homes on Trulia as many of them are scams. They will as you for a deposit and they will send you the keys, do not do this. Try TR Lawing they are a trusted local property management company. I wish you the best of luck in your move!

Oh Jon, I am finding out that many on craigslist are scams as well. People who have "relocated to some part of Africa or GA for work." I will definitely look into your recommendations. Thanks so much!

I just relocated from New York 2 months ago and went through the path you are travelling challenging.
I spent 6 months exploring every property in Charlotte and looking for a job. I would be willing to speak with you. As for the job market, it is a question of field and age. I am not a broker, but a woman who is living through this, and offer service to help other with relocation and job placement. The best part of Charlotte are the friends you will meet. You can email me and we can talk. I was so frustrated in the beginning, I now offer service to alleviate all your troubles that the wall you are building a wall by no fault of your own , but the city I have grown to love. Real-estate brokers do not make enough money on rentals, therefore you need to look out of the box.

My e-mail address is I can walk you through every step, I been to over 60 apartments, spent 6 months searching Charlotte, and know what it is like to be newbie. Good luck and I hope I can help.

You are very brave to move to a new area without a job! You are in the same boat as a lot of other job seekers. Keep applying applying applying and try not to get discouraged. Your best bet may be to literally hit the streets looking for "help wanted" signs. Applying in person can give you the edge that you are looking for. Best of luck!
