Hi Deborah,

That is a great question that we are asked often. I encourage you to review the Durham Crime Mapper link: http://gisweb.durhamnc.gov/gis_apps/crimedata/dsp_entryform.cfm Contact the Durham Police Department at their non emergency number (919) 560-4600 and meet some neighbors. Let me know if you have additional questions. Best of Luck!

Hope you looked on Durham Crime Mapper. Area is very questionable. I was looking at a property on Hitchcock also. Changed my mind after checking police log.

Hi Deborah,

You may discover crime statistics for any area of Durham by accessing the Durham County Sheriffs website. It would be more informative for you to access this website your self rather than me passing information along on a second hand basis.

Please call me if you want to take a look inside the property.

Crimemapper for sure. I like it for trends from year to year. Durham has many small areas of crime so you need to know if your area is moving up or down...Call if you need help.

The best way to learn about the crime rate in any Durham neighborhood is to use the Durham Crime Mapper, I've attached a link below.

When it comes to any safety/crime related issues, it's always best to contact the local police department with all your questions, hear all there is to hear firsthand. If unfamiliar with the area(s) do revisit more than once and at different times of day, possibly chat with locals/neighbors. Real estate professionals are prohibited from steering, enticing a buyer to purchase/rent, or not, in specific neighborhoods.
