I place renters of all kinds- relocation and students.. most renters that go thru a realtor and published in the MLS are 1 yr leases, then go month to month after that. There are exception-- summer beach rental that go for a high price..and then some.
You're better off lookign at websites online for apartments that may have lower lease terms but you need to call them one at a time to find out.
Are you relocating there and lookign to buy a home there sometime?
Just curiuos -- condominum payments are better than rentals, with low .5% down
and you can rent them out eventually as well if you leave the area (tax deduct them--ask yoiur tax person for confirmation of your situation)
