I've lived in North Fontana for 7 years now and I really don't even notice it's there. It does not smell and there's no trash floating near the facility. I'd bet that most residents don't even know there's a landfill in Fontana. The Northern part of Fontana is growing like crazy and is still affordable. There's something like 30,000 homes planned in the next 10 years and they're all extremely nice developments so far. If you're considering moving I'd focus on communities above Baseline and no further East than Alder - more specifically check out Citrus Heights, Shady Trails and Bella Strada as some of the nicer communities. ... more

There has been many new improvements in Southridge. A new post office and Home depot. A new shopping center with a Starbucks, supermarket and a gas station as anchor stores. I love the ups store where I can have my packages delivered instead of sitting on the porch until I get home. The water park at Sierra and Jurupa have received a major overhaul.

My favorite improvement though is the widening of Cherry and Sierra Ave and the Cataba freeway overpass. That is a relief to the evening traffic we used to have.

There are several hospitals in the area. As Victor indicated, the Kaiser hospital is for members of Kaiser. There are several hospitals in the general area of Fontana. You should research each of them to determine which ones would meet your needs.

Hospitals in the general area include Arrowhead Regional Medical Center, Community Hospital of San Bernardino, Riverside Community Hospital, Loma Linda University and San Antonio Medical Center. There are numerous other health care facilities in addition to hospitals in the area also. The best one for you will depend on your own specific needs.

It should not have a negative impact however you may have different options. It would be best to speak with the lender to see what would be the best under your circumstances.

To find out if Fontana is a desirable place to live and meets your needs and concerns, I would suggest to start off with going directly to the city website so that you have at hand all that the city has to offer, such as, the present and future of the city. Secondly addressing the safety in the city of Fontana, the same website will assit you with crime statistics and much more in depth information, and gives you the facts of your concerns. I personally have lived in Fontana for 15years and seen the city growth within the community such as, recreation and programs for children of all ages, seniors, and adults, state of art library, senior apartments, and still growing in a positive direction ... more
