If you are looking in Fort Myers, you will like the McGregor Blvd area, or South Fort Myers. They both have parks, sidewalks, shops and restaurants close by, and both are safe areas. The area down near Alico Road and Corkscrew Road have a lot of new gated communities, and plenty of outlet malls, medical buildings, parks, day cares, and great schools.

If you need help finding a home, I'll be happy to help. I am a native of SW Florida, with 17 years of experience all right here in this area. As a Buyer's Agent, the seller compensates us, so I can help you with no costs to you. We have first time home buyer programs, and down payment assistance if needed.

I hope you enjoy our area, and good luck with your new job.

Check out rentals in St. Cloud. Should be close enough and your dogs are less likely to be a problem there.

Have you thought about Texas? Teaching positions are known to be great, and great paying. Assume law enforcement positions also available, given the large cities and sprawling suburbs..

Florida is popular but less economic activity.. Many young professionals request moving estimate for Texas!

Depends what you are looking for. I went to high school in St. Cloud back when I could ride my horse throughout the town (1970's). Coming from NYC I would guess this would be country living to you. If I has moving to this area I would look at Harmony, FL. I live in Kissimmee and lifetime Floridian. Retiring in 9 months and moving to Georgia. Too many people here now for my liking. Best of luck to you and your move! ... more

Orlando is inland. It's not near the ocean or the gulf. You'll need to drive an hour to get to the beach.
