The most obvious way is to make your payments on time but you can enhance your chances of getting a loan by adding to your credit profile. If you are considering getting a home loan you should start paying all bills and obligations on time or even early. Then keep a record. Hold on to your phone, cable, electric bills etc. If you pay them before the due date the balance will show zero for each months prior balance. The accounts typically do not report to the credit agencies but if you have this proof of on time payments these items they can be added to your credit report. The same goes for your rent. Save those cancelled rent checks. Work with a lender in your area who will help you do this. Good luck in your quest.

One of the most important things to do is to make all payments on time, while being very careful not to overextend your credit or apply for credit you don't really need. Ideally lenders look for at least three lines of credit that is open and active for at least one year. A credit score around the 640 mark, and a good rental history and debt to income ratios. Although every situation is different and I am not promising you any guaranteed outcomes. However, if you clean up your credit home ownership is possible. Good Luck!

Keep making payments on time and honoring all your obligations. Make sure there are no outstanding errors on your credit report.
