Mortgage with no credit score.

Asked by Vladimir Radovic, Palo Alto, CA Mon Aug 13, 2012

We (my wife and me) just become US green holder. We came in Palo Alto, CA because my wife got job in that area. (she is at full time job for 1 month now). We have about 200.000$ for down payment as cash about 600.000$ in assets (real estate) outside of country. (we can't sell those properties right now due to bad situation in Europe).
I would like to know if is possible to buy house on mortgage. With short job history and no credit score. (Single family home cost about 1 million $). Her job is full time for 100.000$.

I always say no credit score is far better than a bad credit score. It means you have no debt, which is a good thing. There are lenders out there that will work with no credit as long as everything else looks good.
