Can I get a USDA loan with bad credit? Most of the credit is healthcare collections that should not be there, as I have insurance.

Asked by bneuhaeuser, Irving Heights HOA, Irving, TX Mon Apr 15, 2013

I want to buy a home, but have bad credit, low credit score, and I am not sure how to even start this process. I have heard about USDA loans, and that it might be possible to get one of those. But I do not know how to go about that as well as what type of house I should be looking for or if it needs to be in a certain location.

The credit requirements for USDA rural development loans are highly flexible. While the USDA official guidelines state no particular credit score requirement, the lenders actually underwriting a rural home loan may ask for a credit score above 600. You should contact a USDA approved lender in your area to understand their required credit qualifications.

We are a Guaranteed Direct Lender for the USDA RDL Program. I just got an approval for a USDA loan where his credit score was 568 and in less than 30 days his score went up to 641. It is VERY important you work with an experienced Loan Officer with a track record of successes. Please don't put yourself in the hands of a rookie. We are licensed in Texas and I actually just relocated to the Lone Star State. Let us know if you need assistance.

That depends on how bad your credit is. If you are still looking to find a lender to help you with a loan then give me a call at 469-371-2899 and I'd be happy to connect you with a lender or two. Bare in mind that USDA loan is basically a loan for a rural area. I see that you are asking your question from Irving, TX. Irving doesn't qualify for USDA loan.

Take care,
