Give them a call, take 'em for a test drive! Three things I recommend to buyers looking for lender recs: 1) Compare costs; 2) make sure you like them; and 3) ensure they are going to get the job done. Websites are nice, service is best.

Good luck!

My experience is that most Mortgage companies will sell your Mortgage to one of the four major banks. So, you might want to evaluate your options. Also, a local Credit Union can sometime be a good deal. So, shop around for the best deal.

Nope, never had the opportunity. I do suggest that you shop for mortgages with a local company such as Sente Mortgage (ask for Andrew Smith) at 512.637.9900 as well as one of the Wall Street mega-banks such as Wells Fargo. (Call Bernie Bernfeld at 512.323.3874.)

Good luck!

I haven't had a chance to work with Texas One. Knowing the track record of the company overall is important to some degree, but you'd really like to know about who your loan officer would be and how accountable and effective they are. I could work with any lender in the area or on the net, though I choose to work with lenders who I have positive past experience with. I recommend Monica Jenkins, with AmeriPro. They have in-house underwriting and can make the buying process much smoother and quicker, than going with a small time bank or lending office who have to send their loans to outside underwriting.

No. I have never worked with Texas One Mortgage. I have worked with Rick Baron at Hometrust Mortgage. He's awesome!
