SVA is as good or bad as you make it. The grounds are in good shape with a nice field for kids to play. We have a board to make rules and a Mgr. to inforce them Some times Mgr. forgets who makes the rules but as a rule it is a good cheap place to live. I'd move here again. I have few problems hear and a loaded shot gun if someone crosses my threshold and breaks in which has never happed to myself and II would not live here if I felt it unsafe!
I hope this give you some insight to SVA and do find a place you like here.

Hello Concernedmom,
Zip code 06902 covers a broad area of Stamford that includes the downtown area, west side, south end, the Cove area near the water, and Glenbrook neighborhood on the east side of Stamford. These areas have many condominium complexes as well as multi-family homes that are suitable for renting. Other areas of Stamford do not offer as many rental opportunities so this could be a factor as to why it appears that rent prices are less costly within this zip code.
I know the Stamford rental market very well so please, feel free to contact me with any other questions.
Good luck!

Hi Summer, I am supprised that an agent would answer your question directly. This is a real NO-NO. Agents are not suposed to give direct answers to questions about an areas crime rate, schools prefomance, ethnic make up, etc.....

What they should have done is referred you to unbiased information where you can decide for yourself. In this case you can find the answer to your question at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stamford,_Connecticut

Good Luck and good hunting!!!

The Garthman Team answered:
Springdale is generally a very safe area. I have sold & rented a number of people in the area over the years who have enjoyed living there. It has a small village atmosphere with some nice restaurants, movie theatre, health club and convenience to RR. With regards to Highview Ave, there are mostly 2-3 family homes mixed with condos & some older single family homes. Parking is allowed on the street for visitors. I am exclusive managing agent for 33 townhouses in the Springdale area and everyone has always enjoyed living there.
I would say it is a safe area for the most part, but if you have any concerns you can always call the police dept.

Regards

Hi Leslie -
This area of Stamford is very nice; lot's of young professionals, young families, etc. purchasing the older homes and renovating them for today’s living. Here lies the opportunity for the "hands-on" type who's not afraid of the renovation thing and has a few years to let the appreciation curve gain momentum. Easy access to down town Stamford, the parks, etc. Great starter area for the $$$.
Hope this helps – cheers.

Monir Mamoun answered:
Hi Eric, you should really check with the local Stratford police and sheriffs departments for this data. They will have the most accurate information. A realtor can't really give you a fully "legal" opinion on this issue for a variety of reasons related to real estate laws and professional liability.

If you need a referral for a really great agent in your area, please contact me through the trulia form.

There are many great areas in Stratford -- it really depends on your priorities--near the train, near the beach, being part of a golf club community, having a small parcel of land or a larger one. Whatever your needs are, Stratford will certainly have a place for you.
Thanks,
