I've lived in the Watsessing Park area for more than 20 years as a renter. This area was wonderful years ago, not so much now. Witnessed a stabbing 2 doors down a few years ago and see too much trouble coming across the border from East Orange. I dont feel save walking in the park and there are garbage stores in the Center. Years ago it was a nicer place to live, shop and raise your family. I am moving this summer and know a few families who can't wait to sell and move as well. Just in my neighborhood alone there are foreclosed homes with their properties a mess. All these new housing projects have created a nightmare of congestion and noise. My quiet street has become a favorite short cut for NJ Transit buses speeding from the garage in Orange and construction trucks driving down the street rattling the house. ... more

I didn't get the full question. However, Bloomfield, NJ is a wonderful place to raise and educate children. The building on Hill street is well maintained and I know a few professional people who use to reside there. Multi-racial and Multi- cultured tenants from various backgrounds. Resolve, like most Multi-dwellings buildings there will be some issues. Just make certain there is a pro-active team (neighborhood watch) residing in the building; establish a phone tree system. Good luck. ... more

Hi Elizabeth,
As I understand you are looking to rent, right? The Deerfield section of Short Hills has no apartment buildings. Renting a house will be the only option. However there are some apartments in the Glenwood, South Mountain and Wyoming sections.

One of my current clients is the ex-Principal of Clifton High School, so I gave him a call. He left in 2006 and at that time, they were and probably still are, the 2nd largest high school in the State. As such, they do not allow additional students from out of district to attend. I would check the current policy by contacting the school district. I would call the Superintendent's Office. Here is the website link with telephone numbers

If you are interested in purchasing a home in the area near Clifton, give me a call and I would be more than happy to assist you in your search.
