Hi Nerlande,

There's plenty of buses that runs in the area of East Orange. For example the 24 bus runs from East Orange Main St. to Central Ave into Newark. The 21, 71, 73 all run up and down Main Street from Newark to W. Orange and Livingston.

This will really help you: www.njtransit.com

You can even pull this information up on your mobile device and search for the bus schedule and train information as well.

Any further questions or assistance you can contact anytime.

I've lived in MIllburn for 10+years. Both Maplewood and Millburn are wonderful communities. Close to the city, well served by public transportation and somewhat diverse. Maplewood, Village, the town's center is charming and functional and I wish Millburn's Main street area had the same feeling and as many fun places to go.

But for me, and with taxes as high as they are in both communities, the superiority of Millburn's school system makes it an easy choice.

Rent to own is tricky under any circumstances.
There are lots of pitfalls.
Enter into such an agreement with care.

In the case of Section 8, a portion of the money is provided by the government due to need.
With that in mind, will you qualify for a mortgage down the road?

Also, check with your section 8 representative.
There may be restrctions on such an agreement

DCP,

If McMansions and development housing are not your thing, then Metuchen is a PERFECT place for you.

Check out this page: http://www.bestplaces.net/zip-code/new_jersey/metuchen/08840

Scroll down a bit, then next to "Overview" click any of the highlighted tabs to get more specific information

Older homes with charm and craftsmanship you don't see in newer homes (but don't assume that they are not upgraded with AC, upgraded kitchens/baths and other amenities).
Homes in every price range and size.
Walkable downtown with lovely shops/restaurants some with outdoor seating. (and it is actually Main St).
Most homes walkable to the NYC train direct to Princeton (about a 22 minute train ride to Princeton Station or a 45 minute drive to Pennington).
Close to Route 287, Route 1, GSP, and Turnpike
Small population (about 16,000).
Small schools (only 1 elementary, middle and high school) well ranked in the NJ School report card.
Full service YMCA in town

In town is a local theater showing movies or live shows with local acting. There is a farmers market on the weekend. During the year there is an antique car parade, Metuchen Fair, and other community activities. Close to Roosevelt Park and their outdoor "Plays in the Park" series every summer, fishing, and an iceskating rink.

I would be happy to discuss your needs in more detail. Just give me a call at 908-675-0167 or email me at PruMaryNJ@aol.com for a no obligation discussion.
