Bill Eckler answered:
Both Englewood and Venice have wonderful YMCA facilities that offer a wide variety of programs including lap pools. The last I knew the membership for either Venice or Englewood included the use of either facility. So you have your choice. Living in Englewood would only require a matter of minutes to the program while traveling to Venice could require 10-15 minutes more, depending on what part of Englewood you are located.

Either location is a wonderful choice.

Would love to hear more about your prefereces.

Best wishes,

When it comes to any safety/crime related issues, it's always best to contact the local police department with all your questions, hear all there is to hear firsthand. If unfamiliar with the area(s) do revisit more than once and at different times of day, possibly chat with locals/neighbors. Real estate professionals are prohibited from steering, enticing a buyer to purchase/rent, or not, in specific neighborhoods.

This home is located in a non-deed restricted area. There are no amenities. It is not located in a development. There are some strip mall type shops and stores in Englewood and nearby Port Charlotte including Walmart, Home Depot, and grocery. Englewood beach is about 10 minutes away. The closest mall is in Port Charlotte.

I would be happy to send you other listings of interest if you could send me your search criteria. If you would like to see this home, I can set up a private showing.

Toby Delbridge answered:
Just to provide a simpler answer, Yes some condos are selling. Those that can afford to sell at market price are selling. Most however are unable to come down to market pricing as they have a mortgage that is greater than market. "Underwater" is the term often used. The problem lies in the fact that since these sellers are underwater and the great majority not qualify for short sale, we are left with a generally overpriced condo market and Sellers that are up against a wall with few choices. When units are priced correctly they are selling. That is something that no stat can tell you. Most of our condominiums have fallen off 40-60 percent form the high roughly late 2005. This rule of thumb is difficult to stomach for most, but Buyers are certainly ready and able at these prices. ... more

Hi Mike,

Some areas you might want to look into are North Port Estates and Englewood Farm acres. Both of those areas will give you a little more space. I have information and pictures of nearly every community in the area on my website listed below.
