Bill gave you great details about the neighborhood. From my experience there is a active trend to move into these areas. The homes are large and the lots are ample as well. And compared to homes in the Berkeley area - comparing sq footage - they are much more affordable. The area is fast developing and still an easy commute to the city and freeways.... more
If you are seriously considering purchasing in any area, it is good to visit it at different times of the day. Go when you think you will be coming home from work to see how safe it is. Talk to the neighbors regarding their experiences in the neighborhood. And ask your realtor. Agents are a good source of location and all the amenities and activity in the area.
