Hello,

We are a real estate search engine so we don't represent the homes found on our site. Please follow these steps to begin your home search:

1. Click the 'Rent' tab at the top of our homepage.
2. Enter your desired city and state in the search bar and hit Enter.
3. Click 'Max Price' to select what your highest price would be to pay for a home. Click 'Min Price' to set the lowest price you would pay.
4. Select your preferred property type, square footage, allowed pets, etc.
5. Click the orange 'Done' button.

This will begin to pull up listings that are more tailored to what you are looking for.

If you are interested in a listing, click on the "Request Viewing" button. You can also take advantage of our vast network of agents here:

We hope your experience with Trulia is memorable and thank you for using Trulia for all your real estate needs.

For future reference, you can feel free to contact us about this type of inquiry through our contact form here:

Thank you for using Trulia!

Seems that is part of the scam. More than one person has said it was a person claiming to be a man of God who had the property. Of course if they said they are a man of Godddd you have to trust them, right? Send them you money and your social security number, That way they can take out some credit cards in your name while their are at it.

NOOOOOOO

I can not tell you how angry this scam makes me. do you know how many people have lost all of their money and ended up living in their car over this scam?

Your going to want to get a screening service for landlords. I use Rentecdirect.com. It lets you check criminal, eviction and credit history. There's a monthly fee and a fee for each report you order. You will need the tenant to provide their birthdate, ss# and sign a consent for the screening. CAR includes the consent on the rental app in Zipforms. ... more

I agree with Kelean . A ratio of 3x between income & rent is a good rule of thumb. If the rule is stretched it will inevitably lead to late payments later on.

It is always a good idea to get all 4 co tenants to fill in the app form. It would be even better to screen & put all 4 co tenants on the contract. This way they would be jointly and severally responsible. ... more

There is a hotel chain called "Extended Stay America" that caters to mid term rental usage that you are asking about. Longer stays than a typical a hotel room. Also look for hotels with the name "suites" in their name such as Marriot Suites and Emabassy Suites.. These typically have kitchens and more.. I stayed at one in Atlanta for two weeks that had a living room, kitchen, and separate bedroom. In vacation areas you can rent a time share condo by the week. The closest vacation time shares are in Lake Tahoe and Reno. ... more

The house has sold in October. There is nothing from the Trulia listing that shows it's for rent.

You would need to check either online rental sites, like Craigslist, or if there's a sign in the yard? Advertising for rental properties is more hit and miss than when selling a home.

By the way, from your other question, it seems that you're better off pursuing your question on home ownership than committing to another rental, or maybe I'm mistakent with that?

I am a property manager in Elk Grove and I dont necassarily count short sales and foreclosures against an applicant. How's the rest of your credit? Do you have steady income? Do you have any liens or judgments besides the home? You might still qualify. Sometimes offering to pay extra security deposit or 3 months of rent in advance can help too.
