I have lived in the current resident for 12 years out of no where my landlord typed up a letter saying I have to move within 3 months from the given date. I have no where to go or the money to give to another apartment. I have called every where to get help and I don't have none. The letter is something I would called a dummy letter its not legalized in any type of way. I have do have children almost to finish in the near by school. I have looked every where to find a decent livable home for us. I have never been late with my rent we are a very quite family and clean. Can he just throw us out just like this. We see each other on everyday daily basis after I paid my rent he put a letter in my mail box. he says the city told him I need to move. But they didn't worn me or hand me any type of letter. I am now going thru cancer and I have a lot on me. I have no where to go and I'm so worry to be put in the streets with my kids. I have called even the court and they told me he could do so. Please advise I need help. Elizabeth, NJ Thank you EMAIL ME AT COACHBOUTIKS@GMAIL.COM ... more

I would suggest using the Help Desk link at the bottom of any page on Trulia and sending them a message via that link. I'm not sure how often they cruise through this forum. I'm not sure what is happening on Trulia these days as there seems to be many comments about scams. All listings are supposedly only loaded onto this site through vaild MLS entries. If the scam IS coming from a post here on this forum and you can find it, then flag is as a scam and it should be removed.

Good Luck

oh without a doubt.you have rights,Ergo excercise them while we are all alive and healthy to do so.
Morning.I know that an attorney will be able to walk you through such,to streamline this flummox issue with the landlord, where your able to have "more time"to live there, prior to leaving,as my bro had same situation.I know a Union County (NJ)judge allow him to remain a add'l 1 to 2 months. i also know the old landlord(Near Union,NJ in Linden area)was chastize by a judge, his lawyer adage. So your going to be ok. He would have gotten 2X the rent(worth two months)IF he did not agree he will rather take the 2 full months,to find a place,so he again won really in the end, because he was not "force out into the street, as the old landlord was attempting to do."He had several weeks month to 2 months to procure a place,AND if not? NJ Judge advise him,"just contact the court through his lawyer, but again he had procure attorney AND lastly the landlord
did have to pay his 1,000 lawyer fee(s)because it was his fault, and his lawyer somehow got a fee-check from the landlord who left the court as your able to see losing in the end.But if your
not able to afford lawyers,do it PRO-SE self file,Many are doing his now a days successfully.
But at least CALL a few for a free consult... The one who"care"will offer free cosult and then
work out a fair pymt.plan for you. Maybe 1/2 down and or be paid in full within thirty days.
MAKE THE NJ ANTI-EVICTION ACT WORK FOR YOU!
IT DOES WONDERS.
LAWYERS EVEN AGREE,'THE NJ LAWS WITH RENTING/EVICTIONS ETC.always work way better more for the tenant, for at least past decade we hear often,so good luck to you ...
Such landlord should've been forthright.I see he has not...

i can answer since i am a victims advocate born in early 70s,and daughter to parents who are from E-TOWN i call it from19 30s to 70s's then we move to suburban residential Rahway/Clark Borderline lovely suburban linden residential area.I was going to purchase 1st home in lovely Elmora Part but i am not...Some new homes in E-Town definitely have way lower taxes which is a plus but just not worth it to invest my $ living in elizabeth bad area.(unless i am a landlord)but then again gotta have good tenants)
I know personally from my family background all about Elizabeth,New Jersey. It is a bad city but not all.
.
Elizabeth is a VERY high crime-ridden city.sad actually because it always imo had so much potential.
I call the best part/a little bit of suburban mini-elizabeth is best part imo grier ave/linden,nj borderline.linden is more suburban naturally way less crime and a lovely residential mostly 90% suburbia.no projects/crime ridden like elizabeth, but elizabeth other BEST section 90% of ELMORA.
I have brother on Rahway Ave/St.Georges Ave/Elmora Part of E-town,by warinanco park/linden nj.
Lovely over there low to no crime that section.

Also,we do have auntie who reside there.gorgeous home nestle on a quiet suburban looking tree lined street.so good luck to you.but again all depend mostly on WHAT PART OF Bad Elizabeth
you are considering buying or renting. Her section in Elmora never in her section murder/rape.crime.

It is a more hood/urban bad but not worse than newark. My fiancee Tarik Family from Newark way worse, but elizabeth is still where alot of my own family live but the better section grier ave section and elmora ave.

Ergo, if u have to "temporarily"move to e town why not.but again key word is... TEMPORARY . . .
Clearly not the suburbs in Elizabeth,NJ but Elmora Avenue entire section just about is a mini-suburb we call it in our family lovely low to no high crime section in THAT section.Good luck to you!
