I see this is an old post, but for anyone else reading it, I have some opinions to share. Everything in life is mindset. If you expect Spanish to be a barrier, it will be. However, I was born and raised here and though I am not proud to say it, I still don't know it hardly at all (I can't converse in it!) because I almost never have to speak it. You will be fine. I actually want to learn it better. It's the perfect opportunity, where else can you go and try to converse in a different language and go back to your native language when you get in over your head. LOL

Regarding safety. I just moved from back from a long stint in Indiana and there were parts of Indianapolis (where I spent many years) that I felt more threatened than any places I have visited here in El Paso.

In summary, I am certain that you will find El Paso quite welcoming. There are many people from many places due to the base. There is a lot of wonderful food and culture here. It's not like any other place.

A exact number days on market is complicated but i would say around 90 days right now. Days on the market is affected by price, curb appeal, amenities, cooling, garages, location and you know just all the stuff. There is a home for every buyer and every home sells, the number of days can be shortened by great Real Estate Marketing in today's market,

What a question and since you did not give an address let me share a little bit about El Paso. Basically there is the Northeast Side, The West Side and the Eastside. Major transportation is I-10, US 54, and Loop 375 of which all intersect the post one way or another. Ft Bliss and Biggs is a huge latest of everything post and has many gates. So where you live and which gate you use will determine the time to get to work. Overall you can get almost anywhere in El Paso in 25 minutes and many rentals in El Paso ar 6 to 8 minutes from the gate. So did I answer you question or can I be of further assistance. With lots getting smaller and smaller and single story homes taking of more sq ft of the lot, get that wonderful single story on a great lot now and it will be one of the sought after homes of the future. You can find a great single story on a great lot today in all areas of El Paso today.
