I use twitter to connect with others in my market area. I follow and start conversations with other businesses in the area, other non-real estate bloggers, local media profiles and of course all the city and county profiles. It is amazing how much you can learn about what is going on in real time by following your community. I also find lots of educational links that are tweeted by those in the know of social media. I have not directly received any business from Twitter but I sure have learned a ton. It is as good as you make it - who you follow is key. I post some blog posts on it and sometimes link to my facebook. I do not spam the "twitterverse" and I don't receive it because I follow only those that connect like I do. ... more

Cathy, I think it is a great start, but the numbers might be inflated because of homebuyers who were weary of the original Dec. 1 deadline for the FTHB tax credit.

I still think that it is a good sign. The bottom line is that people are back to buying houses and November's numbers are encouraging.

Although December is expected to be slow (correct me if I am wrong), I would hope that we can continue this trend to the point where the housing market will be able to stand without using the credit as a crutch.

As far as google goes, Blogsites are updated more frequently than regular sites so you should have a blog on trulia before anywhere else, google likes sites that update often. on the other blogs post a link to your main blog and choose what that link says according to what you want google to register it as. For example Trulia blog title "real estate goes downhill" Blog title on "Real estate goes downhill" link from that blog to your main blog should say "real estate" and not just the ... more
