Contact Theresa Riggs with Perkin's Realty here in Duncan. She had assisted many members of my family whom have relocated here to Duncan. SHe has a list of personal friends that rent homes that they do not rent to just the average joe. Not a big credit check or non of the nonsense. No application fees...just a yes or no answer & how much. Most you will find will be good homes. Not ones that people have run through & destroyed or can't put a few extras without fear they will be stolen or destroyed. Can't go wrong to call her. She is great! ... more

Check out Trulia's "Rent" tab at the top of the page. If the results are not what you are looking for, driving the neighborhoods of interest is the best way to find a rental unit.

There are no gated communities in Duncan, but as long as you stay on the west side of Hwy 81 in the south of town, or north of Elk Ave, the crime rate is pretty non-existent. The best elementary schools IMO is Horace Mann and Plato. There are no montessori schools. It is an excellent place to raise children. ... more

I see Duncan continue to grow as the economy is getting in better shape and oil companies such as Halliburton to continue to be a prime inflow for jobs. Duncan has a great web site that lists many attractions for tourists and visitors. It is a very clean town, with a great golf course.

Yes, get another agent to represent you as a single party broker. That way he/she will be your advocate. You want an advocate because the real estate agent has his own best interests in mind. Your single party broker by definition, has your best interests in mind. All agents have to be honest, but only a single party broker can be your advocate. Talk to another agent. If they don't agree to be a single party broker, move on down the road to one who will.

Hope this helps. Steve

Darla, it depends on what was written into the purchase agreement. If you used the standard Oklahoma Real Estate Purchase Contract offered through the Real Estate Commission number 7 section C covers this situation. If you did not use a Realtor or the standard Purchase Contract then it will depend on how the contract reads. I hope this helps you, if you need more information feel free to contact me. ... more
