I'm not an expert but I believe you can. I'm not sure how bad your credit is but I have seen people purchase homes with not so good credit. There are many first time home buying programs that even help with down payment and closing cost. The only thing is most programs require you to pay a PMI with can add a couple or few hundred dollars onto your mortgage each month. Also some of these programs require you to live in the house for so many years 7-10. FHA is a good program to look into if your credit is not so good!! ... more
