No that's not how it works Belinda. If a home is up for auction, then $10,000 may be the starting bid. It may ultimately sell for more than that.

You should contact a realtor to help walk you through the bidding process and explain things to you

Good luck!

You can go the HUD website www.hudhomestore.com. You will then need to find a real estate agent who is registered with HUD to show the home and submit a bid.

Hi Kim - My name is Randall Sandin and I am an agent in Charleston, SC. You best bet is going to be to find a realtor who knows about lots. Selling lots is a lot different than selling a home. There are different fees involved with the local cities and it can get a little complicated. If you would like, send me your info and I can put in a referral through the company I work for here in Charleston - Carolina One Real Estate. We are member of the Leading Real Estate Companies of the World which enables me to help my out-of-town friends and clients find qualified agents in their area. Let me know if I can help. Thanks, Randall ... more
