As a former agent, this happened to me on another website. Trulia will not remove the listing unless your are the homeowner or the agent/person that posted the original listing. What I learned is there are agents from out of town (nearby areas) that get and post listings even though it's not their immediate area. The $1500. rental is an extremely low price for a home in Dix Hills, but it's possible if the agent is from out of town, they will list it at a very low price to get rid of it. The difficulty is when I tried to show the listing, the agent refuses to come to the home for access and I wasn't about to drive out of town to get the key because there is no guarantee my client was going to rent or purchase it. As a professional agent, I just showed my client something else.

In your situation, find out from the tax records, if the home is listed with a specific broker or who the homeowner is. You will know immediately if this is a scam or not.

Finding a rental can be easier than you think.

We would be happy to provide you with a FREE service called Listing Book. Listing Book provides every property listed with the Multiple Listing Service.

We will set up an account that you will then own. Simply enter your search criteria and everything that matches your search will be delivered to your account.

If a property that is over your price limit is reduced into your range, you will be immediately notified.
When new properties are listed on the Multiple Listing Service that meet your search requirements, you will be immediately notified.

This service is free to you and does not obligate you to me or any other Realtor; you get to pick with whom you wish to work.

The minimal information we need to get you started is your full name, email address and $ maximum. You will control the rest.

According to MLS, there are no Rentals in Dix Hills that are Month to Month, or flexible in that price range. It is really difficult to find homes in this area for a short occupancy period.

What about surrounding areas?

I hope this answered your question.

Wishing you the best of luck,
