Green is a healthy philosophy that includes taking steps to mitigate the negative effects of human interaction with the environment. Saving energy saves money and mitigates the emission of Carbon Gasses (Green House) into the environment. This means it does not matter what the motivation for going green is, all that matters is that steps are being taken to mitigate harmful interaction with the environment. Beth...The effective property tax rate for commercial properties is three times the rate for residential properties. Even if you could change your property from residential to commercial, which is doubtful, you might end up paying more in taxes than what you would save on the cost of installing solar. ... more
