You also need to be very careful when trying to interpret the data. It is certainly true that every area, and price range will be different, but even the data you get for a specific community and price range has to be taken with a grain of salt. A property can be re-listed, which then resets the current days on market. Jeff mentioned "cumulative days on market". This is a relatively new tool that will add together the days on market for a property that is re-listed within 90 days of the last time it was listed. However, if a property is taken off the market for more than 90 days, even this cumulative days on market will not be the true days the property has been listed.
