Condos are essentially single family homes who share walls with your neighbors, same as in some cities. A difference is that there are grounds and perhaps common buildings, property that you do not have to maintain yourself. Instead, as a co-owner you pay a fee and they are done for you. You would have the maintenance of everything inside your condo, same as a regular home. Responsibility for the exterior maintenance may vary. Jersy girl I saw a Historic home that had a trashout done. The cleanout crew threw out 120 year old 8 inch moulding, wood doors, the tiles from a Hamilton Tile fireplace.
The next door neighbor told me they broke the stuff up as the threw it into the dumpster. The materials will cost thousands of dollars to replace with the same product.
Unfortunately the lender tells the crew to throw out whats not attached so out it goes. If they decide on their own to save something they may get in trouble so everything hits the trash.

If you wanted to keep the items in the house it should have been in writing in contract.The bank most likely had someone clean out the property before closing.As is - means if anything was found in building inspection - it would not be repaired. ... more
