Great location. Post War homes often 2bedroom 1bath or 3bedroom 1 bath, occasionally with garage. Many long time residents still in the neighborhood.
I see many people walking to DART light rail from this neighborhood, so that can give you transportation.
There are some rentals, but always tough these days with vouchers.
Best thing to do is check with your counselor to see if they have a list of owners who will accept your voucher.
Best wishes and good luck.

There is no such thing as "the most diverse neighborhood in the U.S." That description would fit hundreds of neighborhoods in all 50 states. If you want the demographics for a particular town / city / zip code, you need to visit the Census Bureau's website. and type in your location and review the demographics for the area. ... more

Teardowns can be a great investment as long as you acquire the land for a reasonable price and keep your building costs under control. Frequent changes to the building plans can add up quickly and cause the cost per square foot to rise quickly. ... more

For a fee a Realtor can provide that information. Tax appraisal boards only accept MLS comps from Realtors for tax disputes.

Lisa answered:
I live just a couple of blocks from Briarwood and have always loved the ORchard Hills neighborhood. They have one of the strongest neighborhood associations in town. Depends which end of Briarwood you are on: if on area east of Saturn Road, can be a bit dicey on weekends. By dicey I mean, loud parties and the occasional gunfire. Across Saturn Road, between Saturn and Glenbrook Drive, pretty quiet, except for occasional speeders. There is that dog leg turn about halfway down towards Glenbrook, sometimes folks take it a little too quickly. Between Glenbrook and Fifth Street, you have to deal with Rick Oden park and weekend parties/radios, plus that side of the neighborhood is not so great. Loud parties on weekends. The section between Saturn Road and Glenbrook is the nicest, lots of long time residents in there who take care of their yards and watch out for each other. Several seniors living along there too. Nice folks. Great area to walk too. Plus it is a few hundred yards from Glenbrook which has a designated biking lane that goes all the way to Centerville Road and all the way north to Belt Line Road, passing by Central Park, which is a great place to walk/run. Hope this helps! ... more

Texas Family Fitness is probably the closest and least expensive option.

Please give them my name Bruce Lynn as the referrer. Hopefully you'll get some kind of discount that way and I'll get a free month too.

The next closest places, but probably much more expensive are the YMCA and the city fitness center.

If you need info for them just let me know.
