Hey Brous85, if you're looking for an apartment complex that does 6 month terms, I would recommend checking out Oak Park apartments at 5318 S Hampton Rd. That should put you pretty close to work, your cost would be between $670-$900/month, and they have quite good reviews. If you're wanting something a little more upscale, and trendy, you could try looking in Uptown or even downtown Dallas. Wouldn't recommend trying to make a commute from Ft. Worth if you're trying to keep it under 30 minutes. If you would like any further help locating an apartment, let me know! Always glad to help! ... more

I used to live in the Bay Area and I can tell you that Dallas isn't very humid. As for the summer months, you'll probably need your AC as most nights are not cool enough. Dallas is not like SF where you need to bring/wear your jacket almost every time of year. You do need your car here, though, the public transportation system here is nothing compared to SF where you can get anywhere via muni.

Dallas is a wonderful place to live offering plenty of jobs, low cost of living (especially compared to SF), and plenty of nice areas for single or family. If you haven't made the move, I would suggest coming to check it out again. Give me a call if you'd like to chat, I'm, sure we can discuss a lot.

Best,

Oak Lawn puts up with way too many fligh overs. On Sunday, February 21, there were 15 flights in one hour from 8 pm to 9 pm. That is one plane every FOUR MINUTES. The planes fly quite low, preparing to land at Love Field, and the noise is deafening. This is not a count of total fligh overs for one 24 hour period. Inside my residence with all windows and doors closed, I feel like I am on the planes. I have lived in my residence for a year and a half.l

Why does Love Field allow this incessant racket to go on, day and night? I am sick of it and may have to move. Thank you.

Kay Flynn, Home Buyer in
Sun Oct 11, 2015
Kay Flynn answered:
No, I moved into a neighborhood last year and a violation for have a vinyl fence was placed on the resale certificate. This is a beautiful board on board vinyl (4 times the cost of wood) The neighbors didn't even realize that it was vinyl. The original owner had put it in almost 14 years prior to my buying the home. The Board now wants me to remove it and have threatened me with a fine....there are NO provisions for a fine in the covenants. Also, they cannot enforce this violation as there is a four year statute of limitations. Why did they wait fourteen years? They are making my life very unhappy, do not speak to me and refuse to remove the violation for when I sell. ... more

I would suggest that you find a job first as landlord will want to make sure that you can pay throughout the entire lease agreement, which is typically one year. The job that you get may not be easy access to public transportation, either, so you'll need to take care of this prior to looking for a place to live.

My best of luck to you!
