If you don't have irrigation set up for the parkway, then Decomposed Granite or pebble rock can look really good with some succulent plants for accent.

The easiest thing to do is plant grass. It' s best if you remove what is already there and put sod down, it looks beautiful.

On my block in North Hollywood, we have a few people who have done decomposed granite. It looks good as long as you can keep the weeds from growing on it.

Hello Lynn,

As long as you have City approval you could do a drought tollerant landscaping or grass. I think the main place to focus is the front yard and not the parkway area.
