Once your main home is paid for then the banks would be more friendly doing option one.Buying the home first with cash money would give you a equity line of credit ($240000) to purchase the condos for rental property.

First question from a banker is 'where is your primary residence and do you have a mortgage on it?'
Then if you main home is free and clear( with approved credit) one could buy investment property with a HELOC.

Just my 2 cents worth but a banker would be the person to ask.;)

This are is one of the more sought after areas in Cumberland County. Surrounded by beautiful views and pasture land Pigeon Ridge Road runs directly and ends in the Cumberland Mountain State Park so a good portion of access is private and offers homeowners in area the assurance of security and privacy. The area features a few of the original Homestead Houses that were are part of "The Historic Homesteads" which was a project for Eleanor Roosevelt www.cumberlandhomesteads.org.

I have personally owned homestead property for 15 years and it is absolutely a lovely place to call home. Please let me know if I can be of further assistance in the search for your new home place.

Best Regards

Hi Marion,
Let me know when you are planning on your move. I am a local agent and know this home. This is a great home in a private setting, has creek frontage, circular drive and other nice features. It was built in the 90's and has been well cared for. The feedback has been that it needs updating. While it is priced well below other homes in the area to account for this, it can sometimes take longer to find the right buyer who can visualize the finished look. Most house "flippers" in this area seem to go for the run down homes below $100k not the higher end homes in need of a facelift. I hope this was helpful. ... more

I know that some communities have security systems set up. However, since some don't, I would say that you should probably check with the community to see if they do. And then if they don't provide any services, I'm sure it wouldn't be too difficult to get something installed in your home to help with your security! http://www.videotecsecurity.com/ ... more

In order to have your home listed on Trulia, you will need to work with a real estate agent. I would recommend choosing one who is also a REALTOR(R), which means they are a member of The National Association of REALTORS(R). Unless you already know someone, I would recommend talking with more than one or visiting several agent websites as well as their company websites before choosing. Trulia is a great place to start learning about the experts in your area. Go to Trulia.com and click on "Get Ready To Sell". This will allow you to request a personalized report on your home's estimated value. Trulia will have a local expert contact you to go over your report and assist you with the selling process, including getting your home listed online. ... more

The answer you got is not accurate. I live in Crossville. There have been several murders. If you check with the county sheriff's department you will also see that Cumberland County has a huge problems with drugs, prescription and meth. There IS no Utopia but whomever answered the question previously, perhaps thought they were giving accurate information but they indeed were not. There was a murder just around the corner from me last October which just went to trial last week and there was a triple murder in Crab Orchard, 20 minutes away over the winter. Check with more credible sources: The POLICE DEPT. ... more

We moved from California (Redondo Beach) and have really loved this area. We studied taxes, climate and land prices and Tennessee came right to the top for all of those - we wanted a mild four seasons. Then after we moved we discovered the friendly southern hospitable people here. We love Tennessee and nothing could drag us back to California. Come on and check it out. give me a call if you need any help with your move. 931-261-3760 Pat ... more
